摘要
译释是哲学典籍翻译中关键的一步,这一步直接决定译文的最终形式及译介效果。但当前哲学典籍翻译中的译释活动却未得到足够的关注。本文以林语堂在《老子的智慧》中的译释实践为研究对象,考察林语堂在翻译《道德经》时对老子思想“以义释文”的译释策略,以期对中国哲学典籍在西方的有效译介及中国哲学典籍的海外传播提供可兹借鉴的历史经验和现实参考。
Interpretation is a crucial step in the translation of Chinese philosophical classics,which will decide the final form of the translated version and its acceptance.However,in current researches the interpretation in translating the Chinese philosophical classics fails to gain due attention.This paper focuses on Lin Yutang’s interpretation of Tao Teching in the Wisdom of Laotse translated and compiled by him,explores the interpretation strategies he adopts such as his revelation of modern value of Taoism.This paper aims to expound the reference significance of Lin Yutang’s interpretation strategies to the efficient translation and promotion of Chinese philosophical classics among western common readers.
