Cortex moutan radicis and its main components of paeonol has the functions of liver and kidney protection, regulating blood sugar level, anti-inflammation, antibacterial, resisting arrhythmia, anti-allergy, cardiovascular protection, nervous protection, immunity enhancement and so on. In addition, cortex moutan radicis aslo has other pharmacological effects on coagulation and hemostasis. The development of pharmacological reseach on cortex moutan radieis, will provide scientific basis for its clinical application and further development.
