BCM aims to reduce risks and develops plans for r...Planning and implementation as well as increased control over the Business Continuity Management （BCM） is a complex task in the company requiring adequate resources. BCM aims to reduce risks and develops plans for restoring business activities if they are interrupted by a disaster. The purpose of the paper is to analyze and describe two standards, Information Technology Infrastructure Library （ITIL） and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology （COBIT）, especially their mapping for the improved planning and implementation of the BCM as well as the increased control over the BCM activities. COBIT is used more as a management framework, providing management tools, such as control objectives, metrics and maturity models in order to complement the control framework. ITIL includes process steps and tasks because it is more oriented towards IT processes （process framework）, defining the best practice for IT service management. Within this mapping, ITIL processes may be used to achieve and demonstrate compliance with COBIT control objectives for BCM process.展开更多

It provides arguments for a more holistic approach towards leadership develop...The purpose of this paper is to define a leadership competency framework for nuclear within Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority （PNRA）. It provides arguments for a more holistic approach towards leadership development in nuclear organization. It further provides leadership framework that can be used （adapted/adopted） by other regulatory bodies for developing leadership within the organization. It is expected that new countries embarking on nuclear power programme will especially find this interesting and useful as they will also face similar challenges as faced by Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority during its formative year. Paper further provides insights into the process of leadership development in organization. It is suggested that an integrated approach is important to develop nuclear leadership within the organization. It was also found that an effective leadership development program is not only long process but requires commitment from top leadership. Leadership gap analysis, providing open feedback and action learning project were important elements for leadership development.展开更多
The concept of global governance first appeared in research on international political governance in the early 1990s. At the time much of the theoretical research on global governance was to some extent isolated from ...The concept of global governance first appeared in research on international political governance in the early 1990s. At the time much of the theoretical research on global governance was to some extent isolated from the realities of world development, but since the beginning of the 21th century, global governance research has been turning to real world issues, We propose the construction, from a public management perspective, of a governance ＂issue-actor-mechanism＂ framework. This sees postwar global governance practice as the old paradigm. The paper points out that the rapid global development after the end of the Cold War has had a crucial impact on the traditional governance paradigm, followed by the emergence of new global governance issues and changes in new governance actors resulting from the changing world of the last twenty or thirty years which have led to the failure of traditional governance mechanisms. These ＂issue-actor-mechanism＂ changes are closely interlocked, and hence require a new global governance paradigm that can reflect the complex interconnections of governance issues, actors and mechanisms. We thus need to reexamine and refresh our perceptions of the world and open up a new research agenda.展开更多
