摘要
意识流语言特色是现代主义作家为更好展现人物的精神世界而对规范语体做出的挑战与创新,古尔纳善于从第一人称视角入手,在人物直接、间接的内心独白中打破常规的语言限制,通过词汇、语法、语义和语域四方面的语言变异细腻地还原了人物复杂混乱的意识活动状态,具有明显的意识流语言特色,也是其作品艺术性的主要来源之一。保留古尔纳原作品中的意识流语言变异特点,是翻译其作品的难点之一,关注平衡连贯、语言形式和历史人文等多方面因素,是解决意识流语言细节翻译难点的重要途经。
The language feature of stream of consciousness is the changes made by modernist writers to the normative style in order to better present the spiritual world of the characters.Narrating from the first-person perspective,Abdulrazak Gurnah breaks the rules of language in the characters’direct and indirect inner monologues.He imitates the complex and chaotic conscious activity of the characters through the language deviations of lexicon,grammar,semantics and register.This has obvious language characteristics of stream-of-consciousness,and is also one of the main sources of the artistry of Gurnah’s works.One of the difficulties in translating his works is how to retain the language deviation with characteristics of stream of consciousness.To solve the difficulty requires to pay attention to various factors such as coherence,language form,and historical factors.
