On Cultivating the Critical Thinking Ability Based on the Theory of Bloom's Cognitive Hierarchies:Taking "College English" as an Example

摘要 当前大学英语课程思辨含量低是一个不争的事实。本文基于布鲁姆的认知分层理论,在探究其原因的基础上提出了相对应的培养措施。研究认为,当前制约学生思辨能力发展的因素主要来自教师的教学方式以及学生的学习方式。那么,要对学生在大学英语课堂上进行思辨能力的培养就要从教师本身入手,在提高其自身思辨能力的同时,分课前、课上、课后设计有效的教学活动,稳步提升学生的思辨能力。 To a large extent,College English is lacking in the training of students'critical thinking ability,which has become a basic consensus.Based on the theory of Bloom's cognitive hierarchies,this paper explores the reasons and further puts forward the strategies to solve this problem.The study finds that there are three major factors which constrain the development of the students'critical thinking ability:the teacher itself,the teacher's teaching style and the learner's learning method.Accordingly,to cultivate the students'critical thinking ability can be achieved by improving the teacher's critical thinking ability and designing the effective teaching activities,which include the ones conducted before class,in class,and after class.
