摘要
中医是中国的文化精髓,中医术语源于生活,具有丰富的文化内涵。跨文化交际理论可以有效解决中医术语英译中的许多障碍,从而更好地传播中医知识及中国文化。《红楼梦》中存在大量中医术语,这些案例对研究中医术语的英译具有重要意义。霍克斯的《红楼梦》英译本为中医术语翻译研究提供了重要的素材,其翻译方法值得借鉴。
Traditional Chinese Medicine（ TCM） is a precious cultural heritage of ancient Chinese civilization. TCM terms come from life,and contain abundant cultural elements,thus providing good material for study their translation from the intercultural perspective. The theory of intercultural communication can be instrumental in tackling the problems in TCM translation,and help disseminate knowledge of TCM and Chinese culture. By studying examples from The Story of the Stone translated by David Hawkes and John Minford,methods of translating TCM terms are summarized for other translators＇ reference.
