摘要
作为贺麟著作的"外篇",《文化与人生》将贺先生的精神理想主义的哲学观运用到领会历史现实和文化人生的真谛中来,放射出夺目的思想光辉。它包含的文章可分为四类:一、儒家文化的自信、自省与图新,在认识和汲取西方哲理、宗教与艺术的元气中获得新生;二、乘抗战风云之势而谋划建立一个不失自家传统的现代法治国家;三、辨识人心的信仰及宗教维度,并于现代儒家和华夏精神生活里找到它或引发它;四、评析以往和当代的文化流派,并发表对于教育的主张。这四类文章相互映衬,共同展示出《近代唯心论简释》的核心义理即"心即理也"的深意。
As the'outer ones'of Helin's works,Culture and Human Life applies his philosophy of spiritual Idealism to apprehending the truths of historical reality and cultural life. The articles of this book can be divided into four classes:( 1) Those of making known the selfinsistence,self-criticism and self-improvement of Confucian culture in modern times by making dialogues with western philosophy,religion and arts.( 2) Establishing a modern legal state with Chinese tradition in terms of taking the momentum of the Anti-Japanese War.( 3) Recognizing the faith and religious dimension in human mind and finding or provoking it in contemporary Confucianism and Chinese spiritual life.( 4) Analyzing and evaluating the past as well as present cultural schools,and proposing his own ideas of education. The four classes are mutually related and together show the rich and deep significance of the'mind is principle'which is the core of Helin's Interpretations of Modern Idealism.
