Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors with high prevalence and mortality. The genesis of gastric cancer is the result of the interaction between genetic and environmental factors, and is a multi-factor, multi-gene, and multi-step process involving structural and expression abnormalities of many related genes, of which the activation of gene c-met, Bmi-1, HER-2/neu and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 is of great importance. This article reviewed advances in study on gastric cancer related genes and their application in treatment of gastric cancer, for better understanding of molecular mechanisms of the occurrence and development of gastric cancer, so as to provide some theoretical basis for targeted gene therapy of gastric cancer.
