In order to investigate the effects of soil, weather and their interaction on the physical property of flue-cured tobacco, the pot experiments were carried out at Yongzhou,Liuyang and Sangzhi as representative tobacco growing areas in Hunan Province. The results showed:1)the physical properties in order of sensibility to weather and soil were single leaf weight leaf thickness equilibrium moisture content leaf width leaf length;among them, single leaf weight, leaf thickness and equilibrium moisture content were moderately sensible, leaf width and leaf length were less sensible;2)soil,weather and their interaction affected different physical properties differently;leaf width, leaf length, leaf thickness and single leaf weight were mainly affected by weather and the interaction, particularly by weather;equilibrium moisture content was mainly affected by weather, while the effects of soil and the interaction were relatively slight. The contribution ratios of weather, soil and their interaction to the variance of physical property were 55.60%,9.42% and 34.48%,respectively.Weather was the key ecological factor affected the physical property of tobacco in Hunan;3)the effects of weather were different at different growing stages, the biggest influence factor was ground temperature;4)the nutrient in soil which influenced the physical property most was total nitrogen, and the most influential minor element in soil was available molybdenum.
