In Spivak's article on "Three Women's Works and Their Critique of Imperialism" the author revisited classical literature from a postcolonial feminist perspective and analyzed the literary works of three women writers in the West. The author also critically reviewed these literary texts by explicating the political metaphor of "subaltern who cannot speak". Spivak contributed to enriching postcolonial literary critica/theory and to broadening feminist literary critiques by her use of both gender and race perspectives in her examination of white women's literary works. Her contribution is significant as her promotion of political ethics of literary critique and the critique of imperialism has made her an important and unique figure in postcolonial feminist literary critique.
