摘要
本文尽可能地收集香港粤语中表钱财的“水”所构成的语词,指出“水”的钱财义源自清代江湖社会的用法,现代香港粤语由“水”构成的语词源自江湖社会、粤语和自己独创三个部分。本文还将香港粤语和北京话同类语词进行了简要的对比。
This paper gives an exhaustive list of words and expressions containing the phoneme 水 in the sense of money in Hong Kong Cantonese. It is proposed that this sense of 水 was originated in the secret languages of the triad societies in Qing Dynasty. Words containing 水in present-day Hong Kong Cantonese have come from three sources: triad societies, Cantonese, and local creations. This paper also contains a brief comparison between 水 in Hong Kong Cantonese arid the related words in Putonghua.
