摘要
近代西北地区城市总体发展水平滞后 ,其主要特征是 :城市的封建军事性和政治性十分突出 ;城市数量少、规模小 ,且分布不均 ;城市功能结构单一 ,工业和文教科技长期落后等。西北城市自身发展水平低下 ,造成了对周边地区的辐射和带动能力差 ,而周边社会的不发达又严重制约了城市发展 ,难以形成良性循环 ,从而使整个地区经济受到严重制约和影响。
In modern time the cities in Northwest China developed comparatively slowly: apparent feudal military and political features; small quantity and scale; simple function; under-development in terms of industry, culture and education. Due to such underdevelopment, their influence upon the surrounding area is quite weak, and the underdevelopment of the surrounding area held back the urban development; it is hard to form healthy interaction and the economy of the whole area is lagged behind.
