摘要
陈独秀发动新文化运动的根本目的,不是简单地追求文学或文化艺术方面的革新,而是着眼于对全体国民进行思想启蒙,在全社会倡导科学与民主思想,促进个人独立、自主人格的形成,并最终带来政治的民主化,促进社会进步,实现真正的社会革命。在陈独秀那里,革命的根本任务或目标,不在于建立一个所谓的新政权或某一党派的胜利,而是国民的根本进步。直到晚年,陈独秀还依然坚持他的文化启蒙思想。我们今天重新反思陈独秀的革命文化理论,不是为了否定什么,而是在尊重历史中更好地推进我们的民主政治的发展。
The fundamental goal of New Culture Movement for Chen Duxiu was not simply for literary,cultural or artistic renovation but to enlighten all the people.Through advocating science and democratic thought,he was engaged to promote the formation of independent personality,which consequently would give rise to political democratization,social progress and real social revolution.Chen believed that the major task or aim of revolution was not the establishment of a socalled new regime or the success of a certain party,but the enlightenment of all the people.In his later years,Chen still insisted on his cultural enlightenment thinking.Today,it is not to deny anything but to promote our democratic politics in respecting history when we rethink Chen's theoretical thinking on revolutionary culture.
