Ⅰ. INTRODUCTION Recently, grafted polymers used as a non-thrombogenic material have been prepared by graft copolymerization of hydrophilic monomers, such as acrylamide (AAM) or 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate onto the backbone of polyether urethane or polyvinyl alcohol, in which some ceric salt has been extensively used as an effective initiator in the heterogeneous phase graft copolymerization at room temperature.
