摘要
沈从文写小说有其独特方法,即在故事主体情节之外融入概述描写,这一点并不为研究者重视。从早年无意识尝试到有意训练,再从熟练掌握到运用自如,沈从文小说中概述描写方法的使用,经历了一个较长时段的探索。就其小说概述描写的作用功能而言,它不仅是故事的引子、幕布和背景,也是推动小说情节发展不可或缺之因素。概述和具体叙述之间的对比参照,既使情节跌宕起伏,更让故事充满突转与反差的戏剧性效果。概述描写为人物出场亮相进行铺垫,为人物故事提供一种文化场域。在普遍和特殊、正衬与反衬等多方合力之下,人物形象变得立体丰盈,故事主题进一步深化。以概述描写方式营造小说情感氛围,不管是“提纲挈领”式,还是“起兴”式,最终都使沈从文小说具有浓郁的抒情化、散文化特征,从而实现了不同文体之间的跨界与融合。
Shen Congwen s distinctive method of writing novels is the incorporation of synoptic description in addition to the main plot of the story,which has not been taken seriously by researchers.From unconscious attempts in his early years to intentional training,and then from proficiency to smooth application,the use of synoptic description in Shen Congwen's novels has gone through a long period of exploration.The function of synoptic description in Shen Congwen's novels is not only the introduction,curtain and background of the story,but also an indispensable factor in developing the plot of the novel.The contrast and reference between the overview and the specific not only makes the plot ups and downs,but also makes the story full of dramatic effects of twists and turns.The synoptic description sets up the stage for the characters appearances and provides a cultural field for the characters stories.With the combined effects of the universal and the particular,the positive and the negative,the characters become vivid and complete,and the themes of his stories are further deepened.With the synoptic description to create the emotional atmosphere of the novel,either the style of“outline and lead”or the style of“rising”ultimately contributes to the strong lyrical and prose characteristics of Shen Congwen s novels,thus realizing the crossover and fusion of different genres.
