Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of Levetiracetam and Oxcarbazepine in children with epilepsy. Methods A total of 300 children with epilepsy admitted to Yantai Beihai Hospital from January to December 2020 were selected as the study objects and divided into the control group(150 cases)and the observation group(150 cases)according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Oxcarbazepine, and the observation group was treated with Levetiracetam. The cerebral discharge, therapeutic effect and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, there was no significant difference in the total improvement rate of cerebral discharge between the two groups(P>0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment, the total improvement rate of cerebral discharge in both groups was higher than that after 2 weeks of treatment, and that in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The short-term effects of Levetiracetam and Oxcarbazepine in the treatment of children with epilepsy are similar. But the long-term effect of Levetiracetam is more significant, which can effectively improve the epileptiform dis charge in the brain, and the adverse reactions are fewer.
