The biological axis of stromal cell-derived factor-1(SDF-1)and its receptor chemokine receptor-4(CXCR4)is closely related to various signaling pathways, and both of them are expressed in a variety of cells and tissues in the human body, both of them are involved in the occurrence and development of many kinds of inflammation and diseases, and their specific effects have been confirmed in the experimental and clinical studies of bone-related diseases.According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine,“the kidney dominates the bone”,the relationship between the kidney and the bone is very close. In addition, the liver and spleen also play an important role in the occurrence of bone diseases, liver deficiency, muscle loss, muscle has the function of binding the bone, weak bone is muscle disease, muscle waste is bone disease;spleen main muscle, muscle and bone coordinated exercise function.Traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages in the treatment of bone diseases, such as tonifying the kidney, strengthening the spleen and regulating the liver and other traditional Chinese medicine treatment of bone diseases,so as to achieve a certain effect.Based on SDF-1 CXCR4 signaling pathway, this article reviews the experimental and clinical research progress of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of bonerelated diseases(osteoporosis,osteoarthritis/osteodystrophy,fracture,intervertebral disc degeneration, ankylosing spondylitis).
