摘要
本文概述了3GPP R17版本正在开发的5G新空口(NR)组播广播服务(MBS)。5G NR组播广播服务基于通用5G NR网络,可将流媒体或数据传输到各类型通用的5G终端,实现广播服务的泛在化应用及业态创新。3GPP中NR MBS的标准化工作包括业务需求、系统架构、无线接入、安全及应用层等方面。中国广电(CBN)一方面全力推动R17 5G NR MBS技术国际标准成熟,一方面组织相关产业链伙伴依据该标准的设计原则,利用商用5G NR网络以及通用5G智能终端开发了全球首套5G NR MBS端到端原型试验系统,并利用此系统进行了5G NR组播广播蜂窝基站部署和电视塔部署的现场测试。现场测试结果验证了5G NR组播广播技术的通用性、灵活性和高效性,能够与通用通讯网络实现深度融合,代表了未来全新广播技术发展方向。后续还将随着中国广电5G广播产业推动进程,陆续发表相关专题论文。
This paper provides an overview of 5G new radio(NR)multicast and broadcast service(MBS)being developed in 3GPP Release-17.5G NR multicast and broadcast service is based on general 5G NR network,which can transmit streaming media or data to various types of general 5G terminals,realizing ubiquitous application and business innovation of broadcast services.Standardization work for NR MBS in 3GPP includes service requirements,system architecture,wireless access network,security and application aspects.On the one hand,CBN has made every effort to promote the maturity of international standard of R17 5G NR MBS technology.On the other hand,it has cooperated with industry partners to develop the world’s first set of 5G NR MBS end-to-end prototype trial system using commercial 5G NR networks and general 5G smart terminals in accordance with design principles of the standard.Based on trial system,field tests for 5G NR multicast and broadcast cellular base station deployment and hightower deployment are conducted.Test results verify versatility,flexibility and efficiency of 5G NR multicast and broadcast technology,which can achieve deep integration with general communication network,and represents development direction of new broadcast technology in the future.In follow-up,relevant monographs will be published one after another with promotion process of CBN 5G broadcasting industry.
