摘要
明范守己著《皇明肃皇外史》四十六卷,现存明抄本三种,有两种内题“王世贞订讹”。普林斯顿大学藏明蓝格稿抄本,订讹以白纸细签条形式,贴于条目上。中国国家图书馆藏有卢氏抱经楼、刘氏嘉业堂藏印明抄本,订讹以眉批书于天头。国图另藏祁氏澹生堂抄本,为“四库修存”用书,系明抄配清抄本。本文将明抄本内163条订讹全部作了疏证,发现订讹内容所据史料多为《明世宗实录》,且内容出于一人之手。本文辨析以下问题:一、王世贞与范守己交往密切,并计划为范守己刻书;二、订讹中有王世贞独有的史料证据;三、王世贞有传抄《明实录》的特殊条件;四、明抄本前“采据书目”中有王世贞《史乘考误》等后出著作;五、抄本并非坊刻本,无利用王世贞名号牟利的动机及必要。故认为:订讹出自王世贞之手,普林斯顿本极有可能为王氏家藏付刻本。
The Anecdotes of Shi Zong Emperor of the Great Ming Dynasty,written by Fan Shouji,46 volumes in total,had three extant Ming Dynasty copies,of which two showed that they were proofread by Wang Shizhen.Princeton University preserves one Ming Dynasty copy with blue-strip leafs and white narrow paper strips correcting mistakes and errors.The National Library of China preserves the other two copies,one coming from the Script Pagoda collection of the Lu Family and the Fortune Court collection of the Liu Family,respectively,with scarlet brush commenting on errors on leaf-heads,and the other coming from the Fertility collection of the Zhan Family,collected in the Complete Works of Four Book Treasures,which is a Ming-Qing Dynasty textual combination.This paper reexamines 163 corrections of Ming Dynasty copies and assures their legitimacy.It is found out that the historical materials which the corrections are based on mostly come from The Chronicle of Shi Zong Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.Besides,the content of the correction can be attributed to one person.This paper,therefore,argues that the corrections from the Ming Dynasty copies are Wang Shizhen's craft,and the copy preserved by Princeton University may belong to Wang's personal collection.This argument is based on the following evidences:Wang Shizhen and Fan Shouji had close contacts and Wang planed to engrave a book for Fan(Fan had sent his work to Wang,and Wang planned to publish their correspondence);The historical materials used in the correction could only be attributed to Wang;Wang had exclusive access to The Chronicle of Shi Zong Emperor of the Ming Dynasty;The Ming Dynasty copies had bibliographies containing Wang's own late work,such as The Historical Correction;and the limited copies were not made for the market,so the attempted commercial goal by using Wang's name was excluded.
