摘要
论文以2019年加拿大联邦大选为研究背景,分析了大选的结果与成因,大选中华人的参与方式、表现和特点。在2019年加拿大联邦议会选举中,华人积极参政,共有41名华人精英被提名为各政党候选人参选,其中8人当选。华人候选人主要集中在华人人口集中居住的大多伦多和大温哥华地区,当选华人能够代表华人社区的主流民意。在加拿大联邦大选中,华人社团发挥领导和助推作用,积极进行选民教育、选举动员和筹款活动。在加华人积极参加投票和助选活动,参政意识显著提高。华人选票受到各政党高度重视,在华人聚居的选区发挥关键作用。加拿大华人参政仍然存在一些新老问题,但展望未来,他们的参政水平会有进一步提升,能更好地维护和增进华人权益。
Chinese Canadians actively participated in the 2019 Canadian federal parliamentary election,resulting in a total of 41 Chinese candidates nominated by different political parties.Eight of them won,mainly in the areas of Greater Toronto and Greater Vancouver with a concentrated Chinese population.The Chinese Canadian community organizations have long been educating and mobilizing voters,and played a leading supportive role in this election.It witnessed that political awareness had been raised significantly within the Chinese Canadian community,of which the general public was active in voting and election campaigns.The Chinese Canadian votes were highly valued by all political parties and comprised a key element in constituencies where Chinese Canadians cluster.Despite some old and new issues still remaining,the future of Chinese Canadians’political participation looks promising.As it progresses,Chinese Canadian rights and interests will be better protected and enhanced.
