The high housing price has brought heavy housing pressure to the public and exerted a negative impact on trust in government. The first theoretical model of housing pressure influencing government trust through a sense of social fairness was constructed. An empirical test was conducted on the 2017 national questionnaire survey data of"the sense of social fairness in contemporary China",and the main research conclusions were drawn.First, the housing pressure exerts a negative effect on trust in government.People who have higher housing pressure distrust the government more.Second, the housing pressure exerts a negative effect on public perceived social fairness.People who have higher housing pressure perceived more social unfairness.Third, the perceived social fairness exerts a positive effect on trust in government.People who perceive more social fairness have higher levels of trust in government. The perceived social fairness plays an intermediary role in the impact of housing pressure on government trust.Housing pressure can not only directly affect government trust, but also indirectly affect government trust through the perceived social fairness. The research results reveal the importance of relieving people's housing pressure and maintaining social fairness.
