Conclusion To investigate the correlation between exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)and lung functionin elderly patients with bronchial asthma. Methods A total of74elderly patients with bronchial asthma were selected. The FeNO level, pulmonary function and peripheral blood eosinophil(Eos)and neutrophil(N),and the degrees of asthma control were evaluated after treatment. The correlation between FeNO and pulmonary function was analyzed. Results Patients with complete control after treatment had significantly lower FeNO,Eos ratio and N ratio than those with good control and poor control(P<0.05),and patients with good control had significantly lower FeNO,Eos ratio and N ratio than those with poor control(P<0.05).Patients with complete control after treatment had significantly higher FEV1and FEV1/pred than those with good control and poor control(P<0.05),and patients withgood control had significantlyhigherFEV1and FEV1/pred than those withpoor control(P<0.05).FeNO was positively correlated with N ratioand Eos ratio, while negatively correlated with FEV1and FEV1/pred.Conclusion There was a significant correlation between exhaled nitric oxide and pulmonary functionin elderly patients with bronchial asthma.
