Objective To establish the Database of Stone Composition in Urolithiasis(DSCU)to facilitate clinical research in urolithiasis. Methods Fields, data dictionary, tables, table relations and forms of DSCU were designed by Microsoft Access. The baseline statistics of DSCU were reported after data input and data clean.Examples of DSCU application for clinical research were presented. Results DSCU enrolled2 832 urolithiasis patients from2001 to 2016,including 2 084 males and 748 females with a median age of 50(1~95)years at disease onset. The database included 802 cases of renal calculi,1 281 cases of ureteral calculi,457 cases of bladder calculi and56 cases of urethral calculi.Stone composition analysis showed that the majority of stones were calcium oxalate(74.4%),followed by calcium phosphate(16.1%),uric acid(8.3%),magnesium ammonium phosphate(0.6%)and cystine(0.5%).Metabolic evaluation performed in 301 patients with complete records showed that the median urinary pH was 6.0(5.0~9.0),the median urinary calcium was 4.09(0.04~20.65)mmol/24 h and the median urinary phosphate was 11.70(0.64~52.68).Two clinical researches in urolithiasis had been finished based on the data of DSCU.Conclusion DSCU is a database of stone composition with long time span, large capacity and high quality. It is helpful for further clinical research of urolithiasis.
