摘要
用聚甲基膦酸乙二醇酯(PEMP)对棉布进行阻燃整理,考察了阻燃整理前后棉布的断裂伸长率、阻燃性能、热分解性能、火行为以及耐洗性能。结果发现,负载20%(质量分数)PEMP的棉布平均断裂伸长率由纯棉布的23.6%下降为18.2%;极限氧指数(LOI)由20.4%升高到30.6%;续燃时间和阴燃时间分别由54.8 s和61.2 s都下降为0 s,损毁长度由30.0 cm下降到11.5 cm;最大热分解速率由18%/min下降到12%/min,700℃时的残炭量由9%提高到24%;总热释放由4.2 MJ/m2下降到0.6 MJ/m2;水洗5次后,LOI值为27.9%。结果表明,PEMP对棉布有很好的阻燃性能和成炭性能,明显降低棉布在火场中的热释放量,防止火焰传播,可以抑制火情,为灭火和救援提供时间。
Cotton fabrics were treated with poly( oxy-1,2-ethanediyl) methylphosphonate( PEMP) as flame retardant. The properties of treated cotton fabrics,such as breaking elongation,flame retardancy,thermal decomposition,fire behavior and washing durability were compared with that of untreated cotton fabrics. The results showed that the properties of cotton fabrics added 20% PEMP( mass fraction) were improved obviously. The breaking elongation went down from 23. 6% to 18. 2%,the limiting oxygen index( LOI) value increased from 20. 4% to 30. 6%,both after flame time( 54. 8 s) and smoldering time( 61. 2 s) dropped to 0 s,respectively. The damaged length declined from 30. 0 cm to 11. 5 cm,the maximum thermal decomposition rate dropped from 18%/min to 12%/min,the amount of residue carbon under 700 ℃ enhanced from 9% to 24%,and the total heat release decreased from 4. 2 MJ/m2 to 0. 6 MJ/m2. The LOI value of the treated cotton fabrics was still 27. 9% even after five washing times. All the results indicate that PEMP has excellent flame retardant property and charring performance for cotton fabrics and can evidently reduce the heat release of cotton fabrics in fire,which can suppress fire behavior and race against time for fire fighting and rescue under fire.
