摘要
本研究调查了510名非英语专业学生情商与外语学习焦虑情况,考察情商、外语学习焦虑与英语考试成绩和自评成绩间的关系。心理特征情商问卷和外语课堂焦虑程度量表的调查结果显示:1)高校学生情商总分相对满意,但在主动性和果断性方面有所欠缺;2)三分之一以上学生存在不同程度的外语课堂学习焦虑,一半以上学生缺少英语交流意愿,甚至畏惧用英语交流;3)学生情商与外语学习焦虑呈显著负相关,与英语学习成绩呈显著正相关;4)外语学习焦虑在情商与英语考试成绩之间仅起部分显著中介作用,中介效应相对较小;5)外语学习焦虑在情商和英语自评成绩之间也起中介作用,中介效应中等。文章从情感因素视角探讨了研究结果对中国英语教学的启示。
This paper examines the relationships among emotional intelligence(EI), foreign language anxiety(FLA), English achievements and self-rated English proficiency in 510 Chinese non-English-major students. Results show that(1) more than one third of the students have experienced language anxiety, and more than one half of them have had fear in communicating in English;(2) the students' EI is negatively correlated with their FLA but positively linked with their English achievements and self-rated English proficiency;(3) FLA has partial mediating effect on EI in predicting students' English achievements;(4) FLA also partially mediates the relationship between EI and self-rated English proficiency.
