摘要
素质教育并不一概排斥考试 ,而英语专业四、八级统考确实体现了教学大纲对专业素质的要求 ,是对学生英语专业素质的检测 ;在大力提倡素质教育的今天 ,全国英语专业统考仍然十分重要 ;我们唾弃的是为应付统考而牺牲常规教学。
Examination and quality education are not contradictory with each other. Since TEM 4/8 aims to test the English knowledge components and the communicative use of the language that students are required to have in the national unified teaching syllabus, it is facilitative in enhancing the students' linguistic competence and communicative competence, which are the quality elements for the English leamers. What we should be warned against is test -oriented practices at the risk of routine teachings.
