The new method of the double fire source two stage underground gasification is suggested, in view of situation that coal gas heating value is low, which is produced by traditional technique of the underground coal gasification, and its basic principles are introduced On the basis of mass balance, the ideal gasification parameters of the two stage underground coal gasification method have been calculated, field test process of the double fire source two stage gasification craft is sketched, which makes combustible compositions in the underground gas produced in the process of underground coal gasification raise to a greater extent (H 2>45%, CO>8% and CH 4>7%) The results indicate that the time ratio of the first stage and the second one is 1∶1 under double fire source condition, hence, production time for medium high heating value underground water gas increases obviously In the light of the computation results of gasification parameters on the two stage, calculation value basically coincides with the real measurement one in the process of the test, and the ratio of steam supplied into gasification tunnel to blasting amount is 0 481 which is identical with that of the two parameters amount supplied in the industrialization test on the whole According to the test results, the formation of underground water gas of medium high heating value is described The reasonableness and feasibility of the double fire source two stage underground gasification method is proved, it further indicates that the present method is an important technology of underground coal gasification for commercialization application to the full in China
