摘要
本文深入分析了美国西点军校外语人才培养体系的特点及其启示。全文分为三部分。第一部分评述美国西点军校外语人才培养体系。该体系包括师资队伍、专业学位类型、整体课程设置、专业课程要求、课外活动、专业测量指标和毕业生去向。第二部分提炼了该培养体系的主要特色。第三部分提出对我国普通和军事高校外语人才培养的启示。
The paper has a critical review of the foreign language major programs in the United States Military Academy at West Point. The paper consists of three sections. The first section makes general comments on the programs that include the faculty,curriculum system,course requirements,extra-curricular activities,the indicators of academic quality and the prospective jobs for the graduates. The second section summarizes the salient features of the programs and the third one discusses the implications that can be drawn from the programs at West Point for foreign language programs at military academies and civilian universities.
