A new and efficient method for the synthesis of 4-methoxyl-2,3,5-trimethylpyiidine with an overall yield of 76% from cheap and easily available 2,3,5-trimethylpyridine was developed. The structure of related compounds was identified by IR, H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR. The method could be carried out economically on a huge scale.
