用光谱仪测量M-Z电光调制器大调制指数 被引量:1

Measurement of the modulation index of a M-Z electro-optical modulator using an optical spectrum analyzer

摘要 调制器频率响应的测量 ,在调制频率大于 5 0 Hz的情况下 ,用扫频法很难进行。该文提出了一种利用光谱仪测量 Mach- Zehnder(M- Z)电光调制器调制指数的频率响应的方法。通过调制器的直流特性 ,以及在一定的驱动功率和频率下 ,改变调制器的偏置点得到的相应的输出光谱 ,求解方程组得出该频率和功率下调制器的调制指数 Γ1 δ+Γ2 δ。按照该文提出的测试方法 ,对几组相同调制频率 ,不同输入功率下的输出光谱进行测试 ,并将测试结果与理论结果进行比较 。 The frequency response of an electro optic modulator can't be easily measured by the swept frequency method when the modulation frequency is higher than 50 GHz because of the speed limit of the optical detector. Therefore, for higher frequencies, an optical spectrum analyzer provides the best measured modulation index of a Mach Zehnder (M Z) electro optical modulator. The modulation index Γ 1δ and Γ 2δ were calculated using formulas and experimental results in this paper. The experimental results showed the accuracy and utility of the method.
