The characteristics and the preparation of the imitation ceramic coatings made by aqueous or-ganopolysiloxane were introduced .The factors that may affect the structures and properties of the coatings , such as silicone monomer , inorganic sol , catalyst and solvent , were reviewed .The research achievements and applications of the coatings were also briefly introduced .Furthermore , the future development trends were an-ticipated.
