A New Power Relation between China and America:the Path and Challenges

摘要发展新型大国关系是中美两国政府基于国际情势变迁而形成的基本共识,主要内核是合作、包容和创新;中美走新型大国关系的道路具有理论与现实的依据和基础,符合双方国家利益;发展新型大国关系,关键是要有效抑制冲突,基本路径在于双方观念重构、加强互动、扩大合作、构筑机制。中美新型大国关系之路可能面临美国对华战略定位变动、中国的核心利益受挑战程度,以及美国被第三方绑架程度等不确定性因素的挑战,两国需要高超的政治智慧进行应对与克服。 In response to the changing international situation, China and the U. S. have reached a general consensus on developing a new type of relationship between them, whose essence lies in cooperation, understanding and innovation. The key is conflict control, while the basic path is concept shift, strengthened interaction, cooperation expansion, and mechanism building. The new path may face many uncertainties in the future, including America＇ s China strategy adjustment, infringement on China/s core interests, and America＇ s being ＂kidnapped＂ by the third party. The both sides should deal with these challenges with superb political wisdom.
