摘要
基于Gumperz提出的韵律特征是语境线索之一的观点,通过理清韵律的表意特征和性质,结合实例分析探究韵律特征的语境功能,认为韵律特征有助于语境化过程的实现、有助于认知激活与信息聚焦,此外还是制造语境氛围的主要手段之一,是意义实现不可或缺的重要语境建构手段。
Based on Gumperz＇s theory that prosody is one of the contextualization cues,this paper explores the contextual function of prosody by looking into its property and expressive feature.It argues that prosody can help to contextualize the discourse,stimulate the frame of knowledge in listeners＇ mind and help them to focus on the key information the speaker aims to convey,and create a contextual atmosphere.It is an essential contextualization device to get the meaning of an utterance.
