摘要
近年来,欧美一批学者致于把一直囿于纯语言学领域的概念隐喻研究拓展到跨学科的多模态研究平台,关注模态本身和模态互动的价值和意义、隐喻和转喻的动态构建过程、隐喻的文体维度、隐喻的体验基础与文化基础等。本文结合Forceville & Urios-Aparisi所编《多模态隐喻研究》(2009)一书中的研究成果,简要评述多模态隐喻研究的缘起和发展、研究焦点、贡献、挑战和前景等。多模态隐喻研究把概念隐喻研究推向了一个新阶段,在拓宽研究领域的同时,推动了概念隐喻理论体系的发展和完善。
In recent years,some scholars have been working on enlarging conceptual metaphor studies,which has yet been limited to linguistics,into the scope of multimodal studies from an interdisciplinary approach.They are primarily concerned with the respects like the value and effect of modality as well as its interaction,dynamic interplay of metaphor and metonymy,stylistic dimensions of metaphor as well as the cultural and the embodimental foundation of metaphor.In reference to Forceville & Urios-Aparisi's latest collection Multimodal Metaphor(2009),this paper presents a brief literature review over multimodal metaphor studies,covering its origin,development,focus,achievements,challenges and prospects as well.Elevating the conventional cognitive metaphor studies to a new stage,multimodal metaphor studies has not only broadened the scope but also contributed to the systematic construction of the conceptual metaphor theory.
