Low-temperature Construction of Monolithic Refractories

摘要 Adverse effects of low temperature on construction, of monolithic refractories and the solving measures were discussed. Winter construction of monolithic refractories can be improved through the following measures: (1) full curing at positive temperature, such as heating of starting materials, heat preservation before construction, and curing after construction ; (2) adding or changing admixtures and binders, such as antifreeze agents to lower the freezing point of the system, setting accelerators to improve the formation of early strength, air entraining agents to introduce suitable pores and improve system structure, suitable binders, etc. Adverse effects of low temperature on construction, of monolithic refractories and the solving measures were discussed.
