As the primary fresh water sources, local precipitation in the heartland of Taklimakan Desert, not only forms the runoff on the clayed ground, but also feeds the ground water. After the analysis of history records of the rainfall and the formation of clay sediments, the precipitation infiltration and runoff recharging experiment was conducted,a nature rainfall-runoff process was observed and recorded. The paper reveals that in the center of the desert an event of storm over 4mm may be occured on the clay ground. Thus, rainstorms and runoffs as main fresh water sources feed the groundwater directly.
