摘要
环境地理学以人地系统为对象，研究人类活动对地理环境整体及其各要素的影响，环境质量的区域差异与评价，环境的历史发展、演化与预测，环境污染的发生、污染物分布、迁移、转化、自净规律及其生态健康效应，自然资源保护与合理利用；辅助制定环境保护规划和环境功能区划，为环境决策提供科学依据。
Environmental geography is an interdiscipline between environmental science and geography.It takes the humanenvironment system as its object of study;deals with the impact of human activities on the whole geographical environment and its elements. It involves regional differences and assessment of environmental quality; evolution and prediction of environment;formation of environmental pollution; distribution, migration, transforming and selfpurification of pollutants;as well as their effects on ecosystem and human health.It also covers protection of natural resources and their rational use;and formulates environmental protection planning and environmental function zoning to provide scientific basis for environmental decision making.
