摘要
清末北洋海军提督丁汝昌是甲午战争中的关键人物。百年来史学界对丁汝昌的评价褒贬不一,至今为止,亦无定论。其实在当时的背景之下,各种复杂因素夹杂其中,作为外行提督的丁汝昌对于当时战务的处理已经尽力了。可以这样说,他的功是大于过的。
Ding Ruchang, as an Admiral of Beiyang Navy in late Qing Dynasty, plays a very important role in Sino - Japanese War in 1894. However, so far it is debatable in the circle of Chinese historical science for about a hundred years whether he is a positive person or not. Actually, considering such complex background, Admiral Ding, in his position, has done his all in dealing with the war affair although he does not understand the affair of the navy at his time. In other words, his merits outweigh his mistakes.
