摘要
美利坚民族精神的形成和发展有其自然和社会历史条件,是多民族多元文化的融合与积淀的结果。美利坚民族精神的主要内容,包括作为民族核心价值观念的自由理念和个人主义原则,作为基本社会规范的平等原则,以及作为民族精神底蕴的实用主义精神。美利坚民族精神具有二元性特征:实用主义与理想主义、内生性和外向性、多元性与统一性、个人主义和社群主义,等等。美利坚民族精神所包含的平等、创新、开放意识,对于弘扬和培育中华民族精神具有借鉴意义。
