摘要
提出了一种改进的智能化掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)结构。通过详细的仿真研究,得出该结构EDFA的设计依据。在16波长、每信道-30dBmW小信号输入时,平坦增益37dB、最大噪声指数小于3.5dB;大信号输入时,平坦增益18dB、最大噪声指数小于5dB。使用该结构的EDFA具有很大的输入动态范围和稳定、平坦的输出特性,能自适应地工作于前置放大、功率放大和线路放大状态,有利于在密集波分复用(DWDM)光网络中的应用。
An improved intelligent EDFA is proposed in this paper. The design parameters are obtained by detailed simulation. In 16 wavelength channels' small signal application where the input power of each channel is about -30dBmW, the flattened gain reaches 37dB, and the noise figure is less than 3.5dB. For large signal input, the flattened gain is 18dB and the noise figure is less than 5dB. Simulation results slaow that high flattened gain and low noise figure within large dynamic range of input power can be achievable in this design. Thus, it may be widely applied in existing DWDM networks.
