在盆栽淹灌(水层为3~4cm)12天或在大田连续阴雨21天的涝渍条件下,Bt棉抗棉铃虫能力显著下降。食其棉叶的棉铃虫死亡率低于正常供水的Bt棉(对照)(P<0.01)。当逆境解除后,棉株恢复生长,Bt棉的抗棉铃虫能力又恢复到涝渍前的水平。在涝渍逆境下,Bt抗虫棉叶中超氧物歧化酶(SOD)活性发生急剧变化,表现为先升后降。
Trials were carried out with potted cotton plants in 1995 and with field planted cotton in 1996 to show the influence of waterlogging on the resistance of Bt cotton to bollworm.The insect resistance of the cotton plants was measured by the mortality of the insects fed on cotton leaves and squares.Artificially flooded with water of 3—4 cm deep for 12 days,the Bt cotton plants lost their insect resistance significantly compared with the control group irrigated normally.Similar results occurred in the Bt cotton which grew in the field and suffered from overcast and rainy weather continuously for 21 days.When the waterlogging was over,however,the growth of cotton plants recovered gradually and their insect resistance increased again to a certain extent.Analyses also showed that under the flooding condition,the activity of superoxide dismutase in Bt cotton plants increased drastically first and then dropped continuously,implying that waterlogging caused injuries to the metabolic process of Bt cotton.
