改进背景补偿的车牌图像二值化算法 被引量:4

A binarization algorithm of license plate image based on improved compensation-based binarization

摘要 针对车牌自动识别系统中二值化车牌图像时常出现字符光照不均等复杂特征,提出一种新的解决方法.首先使用同态滤波减弱车牌图像光照不均等带来的影响,然后通过改进的背景补偿算法对车牌图像进行二值化.实验表明,该方法能有效克服光照不均等带来的影响,二值化效果良好. In license plate recognition system, aiming at the characteristic of license plate image with complicated-background of nonuniform illumination in the processing of binarization, a new method is proposed for those problems in this article. It enhances the plate image quality first by homomorphic filtering to eliminate the bad effects of the nonuniform illumination and than binarizes the plate image by an improved compensation-based algorithm. Experimental results show that this algorithm is propitious to deal with nonuniform illuminated license plates. With the proposed method, the result of the binariation is well.
