摘要
本文着重探讨了黑格尔和丹托的“艺术终结”理论,指出“艺术终结”的根源是18世纪以来确立的“审美自律”。“为艺术而艺术”导致艺术只与自身相关,艺术的创新就意味着对以往艺术的颠覆,现代艺术正是在这种创新的压力下穷尽了所有的可能性而走向终结。要摆脱艺术终结的命运,首先要将艺术从自律中解放出来,重新恢复它的各种社会功能,尤其是其对现代文明的批判功能。中国当代艺术表明,多元的艺术观念、混杂的社会形态和独特的艺术传统,是艺术在现代文明中获得新生的重要因素。
This paper mainly discusses the theories of 'the end of art' by Hegel and Danto pointing out that the aesthetic self-discipline established since 18th century is the origin of these theories.The idea of 'art for art's sake' leads to an art that only concerns about itself,and any originality,either in form or content,would mean destruction of the past.It is under this pressure of originality that modern art exhausts all its possibilities and comes to an end.In order to get rid of the pressure,art must free from its own discipline and restore its social function,especially its critiques of modern civilization.The contemporary Chinese art shows that the multiple conceptions of art,the hybridized form of society,and the unique tradition of art are the important factors that give rise to the rebirth of art in modern culture.
