摘要
现代的时间意识首先表现的是现在不断与传统的决裂,但又会成为过去。审美现代性表现为时代性和永恒性的综合,同时现在因未来的追究而充满压力,这也给艺术批评带来压力。左拉生活在审美现代性的生成期和现代主义的发轫期,其艺术批评最大的价值在于他反思了作为现代艺术批评者的责任,以诚实的姿态面对现代艺术的发展。
Zola was praised for supporting Manet and impressionism, and criticized for disregarding Cézanne and rebuking impressionism in his later years. The modern consciousness of time firstly is reflected in the constant breakup between present and tradition, but will be fast passed. The modernity of aesthetics is embodied in the combination of present and eternity. In the meanwhile, the present is under pressure because of the investigation of the future, this also bringing pressure to the artistic criticism. Zola lived in the period of appearance of aesthetic modernity and modernism. The value of his art criticism lies in his reflecting the responsibility of modern art and facing the development of modern art with honesty.
