Language is an essential part of culture and life, while vocabulary is the most active component of language and a sensitive element that reflects the societal change. With the economic reforms being deepened in China, there exist interactions and exchanges in trade and culture across China's Mainland, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan. Particular vocabularies used in Hong Kong and Taiwan have a considerable influence on Putonghua along with the wide distribution and circulation of books, newspapers and magazines, films and televisions from Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition, some of the vocabularies have been accepted as written language.
语言是文化的一部分，也是生活的一部份。在语言中最活跃的是词汇，而词汇又是反映社会变化的敏感要素。随着中国经济改革的深化，两岸三地在经贸、文化上不断相互交融，港台地区词汇随着书籍、报刊杂志、影视剧的广泛发行和流传，封普通话产生了相当大的影响，并逐渐进入了书面语中。
