作为转化生长因子β(TGF-β)超家族成员之一的肌肉生长抑制素myostatin(MSTN),又称GDF-8(Growthdifferentiation factor 8),与同属于同一个家族的生长激素(GH)、类胰岛素生长因子(IGF)等因子对动物生长发育的调节作用有所不同,MSTN基因是一种对骨骼肌生长具有负调空作用的重要的细胞因子,它的突变或缺失会导致肌肉细胞的增生和肌纤维的肥大[1]。本文详细阐述了抑肌素的基因结构、表达蛋白的功能、基因定位和基因表达谱以及在动物科学和医学中的应用和研究最新进展。
As a member of the transforming growth factor - βfamily, Myostatin (MSTN), unlike with the other members which contain GH, IGF, et al, performs as a negative regulator of muscle growth . When it mutates or losts, it will lead to myocyte hyperplasia and increase the number of muscle fibers. This paper expatiates MSTN' s gene structure, fuctions of protein, location of gene & gene expression , latest progress in research and appied in animal science and medicine.
