摘要
Contourlet变换是对二维图像域内小波变换的一种新扩展,由不可分的方向滤波器组实现,该变换的基函数分布于多尺度、多方向上,可仅利用少量系数有效地捕捉图像中的光滑轮廓,而光滑轮廓正是自然图像的主要特征。讨论了Contourlet变换的发展背景、原理和数字实现与实际应用,分析了Contourlet变换存在的问题并指出了进一步研究的方向。
The Contourlet transform is a new extension to wavelet transform in two dimensions using nonseparable and directional filter banks. With rich set of basis images oriented at varying directions in multiple scales, Contourlet transform can effectively capture the smooth contours, which are the dominant features in natural images, with only a small number of coefficients. This paper discussed the background,principles, digital realization and the application of Contourlet transform. Based on an analysis of the current problems within Contourlet transform, its further research directions has been anticipated.
