摘要
Emotions used to be treated as a boundary research area in sociology until about thirty years ago and since then, this area has stimulated an ever-growing interest from sociologists. Viewing emotions and emotional processes as social phenomena rather than just mere instincts, sociologists have examined the social sources of emotions; applied theories of emotional processes to such domains as deviation and social control or group solidarity; and discussed the effects of emotions on individual behaviors and social life. This review paper summarizes the research literature in three areas of social sources of emotions, emotional socialization, and social consequences of emotions, followed by a discussion of future trends in this line of research.
