第二次世界大战结束后，由于苏、美等国为了维护各自在欧洲的利益，把德国人为分裂为德意志民主共和国德意志联邦共和国两个国家。民族和国家是历史发展的必然趋势。但历史人物在其中所起的推动作用和如何统一所制定的政策是不可低估的。维利·勃兰特就是这样的历史人物，他大力倡导的“新东方政策”在德国统一中所起的作用是不容抹煞的。
After the World War Ⅱ, the Soviet Union, the U. S. A and other countries divided Germany into two countries, the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany, in order to keep their interests in Europe. It's an inexorable trend to unify the nation and the country in the end, in which the role the historic people played and the policy they made mustn' t be underestimated. Such was Villy Bolland. He devoted his energy to initiate New Eastern Policy, whose role in the unity of Germany cannot be denied.
