On November 3, CNPC established its ocean engineering limited company (CPOE). This is a signal of CNPC's quickened pace of its exploration of ocean oil and gas. The first General Manager of CPOE Shi Lin announced that in the short term his company will focus its operation on the oil and gas field in Bohai sea and base on the offshore to enhance its ability of ocean oil exploration, design and general contract. CPOE will keep persistent efforts in ocean oil exploration and improve its engineering technology service system of offshore and even mid-depth ocean oil exploration.
